Ice Fishing with Kameron

We had planned an early Saturday morning ice fishing trip and it just so happened to be a day where the wind was blowing at 15 - 20 mph, with gusts up to 35 . . . oh, and with a lot of snow falling that day. I was a little worried about being snowed in while we were out on the ice because of all the snow that was falling, due to the fact we had to climb a pretty steep hill to climb up to get out of the reservoir area. Kameron is an awesome fishing buddy. Several times I asked if he was okay, if he wanted to leave, was too cold, etc., etc., and every time he said he wanted to stay and stick-it-out . . . what a kid. I should have pulled the 4-Runner out on the ice with us and sat in the heated vehicle, but it was too late for that; we had already snow-shoed way out on the ice, maybe next time. As a result of this trip, I've decided that I am old and out of shape (actually it just re-affirmed this fact . . . I've already decided this long ago). The ice was around 3 - 3 1/2 feet thick and my manual auger about killed me after the second hole. Kameron was asking about more holes in the ice, like we planned, but I had to admit that after drilling through 7 feet of ice, I couldn't hack much more without the need of an O2 tank . . . nothing like sweating your butt-off when it is below zero with the wind chill . . . it doesn't take long to stop . . .

Breanna Faithe Packham
On one of Margie Jo's days off, they whipped the camera out and took a ton of pictures hoping to find a picture that could be sent to grandparents for the holidays. For some reason when she was striking this pose, I couldn't help but love it. It captures her personality in one shot. Mischievous . . . I'm in charge . . . and don't mess with me or suffer the consequences . .
