Okay, so maybe there is something to global warming . . . nah, just kidding. I saw a Science Channel program discussing the lack of sun spots as the most likely cause, and nothing to do with CO2. Everyone has their own 2 cents on the matter. As for me, I'll let the so called experts figure it all out and I'll take a day out on the ice, bright sunshine, 32 degrees and no breeze any day. If there ends up being no more ice, I suppose that's why the indian's invented canoes.
What a beautiful week we have had this week, and it is suppose to get even nicer the rest of this week. I wish I could find the time to get out on the ice and try to pull in some fresh salmon out of the lake. Even some nice trout or whitefish would be nice. There never seems to be any free time . . . there is always something. So I can always dream as I drive by these lucky dudes out in the middle of Keweenaw Bay pulling the fish in. I was sitting, eating lunch in my car at the L'Anse marina today watching the Zip Code of ice shacks out in the harbor, and a car drives in front of me, down the boat launch and out on ice. This guy drives out to the the city of shantys and parks in front of his shack and goes on in. I wish I had a video. Didn't have four wheel drive or all wheel drive, just a car like mine, Chrysler Sebring. Too funny. One of these days i'll be out there with them. Just don't know when.
With these great days, come even greater nights. Super calm, quiet, dark and full of massive amounts of stars. Just spectacular.
What a beautiful, clear, cold night we have tonight. Millions of stars. Quiet, calm . .
