I had some time to kill this week so I ended up scouting some new fishing spots. You can never have too many places to fish. It has warmed and then cooled and then warmed . . . you get the picture. This date was an overcast but warmer day. Slightly cool breeze . . . perfect. As I was standing along the shore of this lake fishing for an hour or so, literally thousands and thousands of Canadian Geese flew over head due north. I counted at least 50 to 75, sometimes at least 100 geese on 1 side of the "V" formation. Sometimes they were double in size with two or three "Vs" flying overhead. V after V after V would fly over. I would not be shocked if over 10,000 geese flew over. Once I thought it was over, another migration of a couple thousand would go by. It was wonderful. I just had to stop, sit down and enjoy the wonder of it all. All going home, instinctively knowing where to go, all without GPS. Well, I guess they have their own form of built-in GPS. Too bad I lose my way sometimes, forget which way I'm going, and have a hard time figuring out which way I need to go to get home . . .
